Bike parking at La Défense 07-2023 (c) Bénédite Topuz

In order to evaluate its current bike parking offer and develop it to better meet the expectations of users in the La Défense district, the public establishment Paris La Défense needs you! Help us by answering one of our two surveys, or better still, both, by May 10, 2024.

Cycling in the business district is nothing new! Since 2015, bicycles have been allowed on the territory, and the practice has continued to grow since Covid and the 1st deconfinement.

As part of its 2023/2027 bicycle plan, Paris La Défense is committed, in particular, to deploying a suitable parking offer. To this end, two studies are currently being carried out in the La Défense district concerning bicycle parking facilities: one on bike lockers, the other on the number of hoops deployed in the district. As part of this project, we are offering you a very short anonymous survey (less than 5 minutes) until May 10, 2024, to find out about your practices and needs, so that we can adapt our offer:

A 2023/2027 cycling plan

Following on from the first bicycle paths created in the 2010s and, more recently, the "coronapistes", Paris La Défense has embarked on an ambitious district-wide bicycle plan, ensuring that the area is integrated into the networks of the communes and the département. Studies are also underway to ensure the long-term viability of the Pont de Neuilly cycle path, a preferred access route with over 6,000 passages per day, as well as its connections to Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle on the Neuilly side, Boulevard Patrick-Devedjian and the slab on the Courbevoie side. To enable more than 50,000 cyclists to access the area on a daily basis by 2040, Paris La Défense is stepping up its action through the implementation of a new bicycle plan between 2023 and 2027 based on 4 major objectives:

  • Improve access to the district for all users;
  • Reduce conflicts of use on the La Défense slab;
  • Deploy suitable parking facilities;
  • Develop a range of services for cyclists.
